Who we are
Gridome ("we", "us") operates this website, gridome.energy, and is the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@gridome.energy. We're based in Słupsk, Poland.
What we collect
This is a pre-launch site. There is no sign-up form on it and we do not run a waitlist. Personal data is processed only in the cases below.
- Emails you send us: if you write to hello@gridome.energy, we receive your email address and your message.
- Visiting the site: as with any website, our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. We use no analytics.
- Setting up a Gridome: the setup page (gridome.energy/claim), used by owners of a Gridome, sends the device identifier and the setup code from its sticker to our remote-access service. It does not ask for your name, email address or a password.
- Using a Gridome: your Gridome regularly tells our remote-access service that it is online, and the service sees its internet (IP) address when it does. If you turn on offline alerts, the service also stores what it needs to send them to your phone. To find your grid operator and to forecast the weather and your solar production, your Gridome sends your address or approximate location to mapping and weather services. Your energy data is stored on the device, not on our servers.
- Updating a Gridome: to download an update, your Gridome asks our remote-access service for a download link that works for 30 minutes. The request carries its device identifier and the version it wants, signed with its own key, and the service sees its internet (IP) address. We record which unit asked for which version, and when. Your Gridome does this even when remote access is off, so that security updates still reach it.
Why, and on what basis
We use your email and message only to answer you. We use setup and device data only to run remote access, to deliver updates and to run the features you use on your Gridome. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering messages and in providing the service you ask for (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). We don't send marketing, and we never sell your data.
Where it's stored
This website, and remote connections to your Gridome when you are away from home, run through Cloudflare. Emails are kept by our email provider. Setup data and update records are kept by our remote-access service, which runs on servers in the European Union. Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, so your data may be processed there. Where data leaves the EEA, it is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. Apart from these providers, we don't share your data with anyone.
Cookies
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. Your theme and language choices are saved in your browser's local storage, on your device only, and they're never sent to us.
How long we keep it
We keep emails only as long as we need to answer you and finish the conversation. We keep setup data and update records while your Gridome is registered with our remote-access service, whether remote access is on or off: they are what lets it receive security updates, and they tell us which units have a fix. If a Gridome is retired from the service, we delete its records 30 days later. Our remote-access service keeps the internet (IP) address of each request for 30 days. Deleted data disappears from our backups within 7 days. You can ask us to delete your data at any time by writing to hello@gridome.energy; your Gridome then no longer receives remote access or updates from us.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict its use, or to receive a copy. You can object to its use and, where we rely on your consent, withdraw that consent at any time. Email hello@gridome.energy and we'll act on it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Poland's data protection authority, the UODO (uodo.gov.pl).
Changes
If our data practices change, we'll update this page and revise the date above.
